Hey May!

This Week at the Market — May 1, 2016

It has been a fits-and-starts kind of spring, but the ramps have arrived, even if warm weather hasn’t. Kurt of Clearview Farm has harvested a big batch of these tender treats, like delicate wild leeks, and will offer free recipes with the ramps at this week’s market. The season is very short, so don’t miss out. Kurt will also have green onions, eggs in various sizes and colors, Callan Farms dry black beans, Italy Hill popcorn, buckwheat, herbs (sage, Italian oregano, Genovese basil, lemon basil, and lemon mint), and 100% grass-fed Angus beef, ground and other cuts.

Fresh greens will be abundant at this May Day Market: Fellenz Family Farm is bringing spinach, sorrel, komatsuna, arugula, honey, eggs, and herb transplants. Andy’s Specialty Garlic & Produce will have spinach, arugula, lettuce, red radishes, celeriac, and frozen tomatoes and peppers.
