Products:

alpaca batts and rovings produced at the farm, and yarn spun from the farm’s fibers in family-operated mini-mills located in NY State.  Handmade wearable art made from fiber from the farm’s animals by fiber artists.

Practices:

According to Karin, the alpaca farm uses pasture rotation and composting of dung piles.  “Since alpacas are grazing animals, their diet consists of pasture, hay, and an alpaca pelleted feed so as to increase protein as needed.  The alpacas themselves are considered an environmentally sustainable breed of livestock, as they provide a renewable, biodegradable source of useable fiber and are shorn without harm once per year.”
