Thankful

This Week at the Market – November 23

There’s much for which to be thankful at Brighton Farmers’ Market these days — for an abundant harvest with the finest food to be found around here, for hard-working farmers and vendors who bring us this food, and for a community that recognizes the value and importance of this food and supports its producers.  Thanks to all, and happy Thanksgiving!

This week it’s about the feast — let’s start with the turkey.  Fisher Hill Farm will have organically-fed turkeys, mostly in the 10-14 pound range, along with just about everything else you will need for Thanksgiving dinner, including lots of root vegetables, onions, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, potatoes including 10 pound bags, eggs, frozen chicken, and juice.  Lakestone Family Farm is bringing butternut, buttercup, and acorn squash; pie pumpkins, spinach, curly, lacinato and red Russian kale; Napa and savoy cabbage; Hakurei turnips; kohlrabi; arugula; escarole; garlic; eggs; and whole and cut chicken, all certified organic. Honeyhill Farm will have certified organic carrots, squash, shallots, cooking onions, and ginger.
